FSU Boosters Allowed to Tailgate at Doak Campbell

According to a press release sent out earlier today the rules are:

• All parking lots will open three hours before kickoff this season.
• Patrons will be limited to individual tailgates at their own spaces.
• All attendees are asked to maintain the six-foot social distancing standard between individuals outside of family/friends as well as between tailgate areas.
• All patrons are encouraged to wear facemasks when traveling through parking lots as well as while socializing.

FSU Athletic Director sent out this message:

“Just as it is with so many things in our society during this pandemic, we ask that our donors take responsibility for adhering to the tailgating guidelines, and make good decisions for the safety of our community so that we can continue to move forward with a safe football season. If we as a Seminole family can not create a tailgating environment that protects the health and safety of each other, it may be necessary to revisit this approach.”

Boosters would need to have qualifying donations to automatically have parking access. All others who have donated the minimum of $330 would be placed in a raffle.

2020 Schedule

FSU opens their schedule at home against Georgia Tech. Not the usual FCS school they usually play, but it is a winnable game. Released earlier today, the one non-conference game they have scheduled will take place on October third, as they welcome the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

Of course, this is all dependent on if we even have a season. FBS schedules don’t kick off for another six days. Anything can happen.

At least the ones who can afford to be a Booster can tailgate. Any semblance of normality is welcomed. This is not going to be like any other season we have ever seen before.

For starters, there won’t be the final week’s match-up versus the Gators. Which will mark the first time since 1958 the two Florida powerhouses will not face off against each other during Rivalry Week.

Can FSU make it through their grueling schedule with minimal losses? How long will it take for head coach Mike Norvell to bring dominance back to Tallahassee?

We hope soon. Only time will tell.
