With the 2020 NFL season right around the corner, the San Francisco 49ers are going to be an entertaining team to keep an eye on. After finishing the 2019 season with a 13-3 record and first place in the NFC, the 49ers made a run to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, they were unable to knock off Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, the 49ers are already being viewed as favorites to win the NFC once again. They only lost a couple of pieces and made some solid additions during the offseason.

Kyle Shanahan is one of the best head coaches in the NFL. His offensive system is lethal and very few coaches can out-do him on that side of the ball. Defensively, the 49ers have an elite pass rush and bring a hard-nosed philosophy to the field.

It will be interesting to see if the 49ers can live up to the hype this season. They will have some serious competition once again from the rest of the NFC. There are quite a few teams who have the talent to compete for a Super Bowl appearance.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at four bold predictions for the 49ers this season.

4. Raheem Mostert Will Take Over At RB Perfectly

Last season, the 49ers were known for their aggressive offensive system that relied on running the football. Shanahan had three very solid running backs who could make an impact at any given moment.

Tevin Coleman, Raheem Mostert, and Matt Breida all received plenty of playing time throughout the season. However, the 49ers did end up trading Breida this offseason to the Miami Dolphins. That leaves Coleman and Mostert as the lead options.

Mostert is going to end up winning the starting job and he is going to have a big year. When everything is said and done, he will rack up over 1,000 rushing yards and around eight touchdowns.

3. The 49ers Win The NFC West With A 13-3 Record

Once again, the 49ers are going to finish at the top of their division just ahead of the Seattle Seahawks. And once again, the 49ers are going to finish the season with a 13-3 record, which will put them in play for the No. 1 seed in the NFC once again.

Shanahan and company are just as talented as they were last season. In fact, with the development of a few young pieces, they might even be more talented. Only time will tell, but this 49ers’ team is going to be very good.

San Francisco will not disappoint their fans. They are going to be in the running for a championship this season.

2. Nick Bosa Ends Up Winning Defensive Player of the Year

If there is one player that ever 49ers’ fan is excited to see this season, it would be second-year pass rusher Nick Bosa. During his rookie season, Bosa was an absolute monster. He has the potential to become one of the NFL’s most feared defensive players as soon as this season.

Bosa racked up 47 total tackles to go along with nine sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and two defended passes. Those numbers show why the second-year star is going to be in the conversation of Defensive Player of the Year.

This season, Bosa is going to take his numbers to a new level. It would be reasonable to expect around 60 tackles, 15 sacks, three forced fumbles, and another pick. If Bosa stays healthy, he is going to win the prestigious award in his second NFL season.

1. The 49ers Will Take The Next Step And Win The Super Bowl

Finally, it’s time for the most bold prediction of them all. After losing to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl last season, the 49ers are going to be gunning to win the big game. They are going to make it there and a re-match with Kansas City will end up being the situation.

This time, the 49ers are going to squeak out a narrow win. Jimmy Garoppolo and company are bound for a ring this season.

Obviously, this will depend on health, but the 49ers have the roster to win a championship. It is going to be a fun year to keep track of this football team and they will get the job done for the first time since the 1994 season.
