Marie Ruumet Discusses How She Became a Muay Thai Fighter | INTERVIEW WITH MARIE RUUMET

Marie “Snow Leopard” Ruumet puts the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai division on notice as she makes her statement with a remarkable ONE Super Series debut on ONE: No Surrender III.

The Estonian Phenom puts up her striking skills on full display as she decisively beat the Six-time Muay Thai World Champion, “Little Tiger”. In this fight, we saw Marie Ruumet outworking her veteran opponent as she landed vicious elbows, kicks, and knees to the body.

However, her performance might not be the only reason why she buzzed the internet. Marie Ruumet attracted a lot of fight fans due to her astonishing beauty. Check out my interview with her as she discusses her journey to becoming a professional Muay Thai Fighter.

BACKGROUND

Marie Ruumet had a pretty simple life growing up. She lived in a small town in Estonia, called Sindi. As a kid, she was really into sports. Marie tried swimming, horse riding, Table Tennis, and even learned HipHop. However, nothing really stuck with her.

It was at the age of 15 where she was introduced to Muay Thai. She tried Muay Thai after seeing her classmate, who also became one of her first trainers. After a couple of fights, she found herself falling in love with the sport.

Marie Ruumet went to Thailand with her friend in 2017, to have a two-month training camp at Suwit Muay Thai Gym in Phuket. During the training camp, she had four fights and made money from all of them. It was then that she thought she wanted to move to Thailand and pursue her dreams of becoming a professional Muay Thai Fighter.

Right after finishing the training camp, Team Quest Thailand was looking to sponsor fighters. Marie Ruumet grabbed the opportunity and took a month of try-outs. She was successful and Team Quest sponsored her with free training.

During her stay at Team Quest, she was first strictly training Muay Thai. Then she transitioned to train MMA and grappling. She originally had her ONE Championship debut, an MMA match on rich franklins ONE Warrior Series.

She now fights at The Bear Fight Club where she is very comfortable with her team. Now at 21 years old, Marie Ruumet is looking to build up more experience. She is looking forward to becoming a future Muay Thai Champion.

She’s truly a promising prospect. To keep updated about her, follow her Instagram account at @marieruumet
