Breaking Down Trevor Keels Final Three Schools

|

Trevor Keels is one of the top high school players in the 2021 class. The five star recruit recently cut his list to three schools including Duke, Villanova, and Virginia. Will Keels stay home and play for Virginia? Will he be the next five star recruit to join Duke? Or will join Jay Wright’s squad at Villanova? Lets break it down.

Duke Blue Devils

It is no surprise to see Duke on ANOTHER five star recruits top schools list. They already have five stars Paolo Banchero and AJ Griffin committed for this year and they are looking to add Keels to this class. Duke is one of the best programs in getting players to the NBA and winning at games at a high level. The past few weeks, Duke has been the school receiving the most buzz for Trevor Keels. Playing for a legendary coach like Coach K is very intriguing for Keels. The Duke coaching staff has proven they can produce really good pro players especially at the wing position. Duke is definitely a major player in this recruitment.

Jay Wright has been on a recruiting tear recently for Villanova’s 2021 recruiting class. As things stand today, he has the number two recruiting class in the country and he would LOVE to add Keels to this class. Early on in Keels recruitment, Villanova was seen as the leader. At one point it seemed that he was all but a lock to the Wildcats. But as months went by momentum started to fade away for Villanova. As I do not believe Villanova is the leader, they should not be counted out in this recruitment. They have recruited Keels for a while now and Jay Wright has proven he can recruit at a high level.

Virginia currently does not have a commitment for their 2021 recruiting class. They would absolutely LOVE to keep Trevor Keels in the state of Virginia. He took an official visit to Virginia on September 13th, 2019. Keels would be a major game changer for the Tony Bennett and his staff. I am not very confident in Virginia’s chances in this recruitment. All signs are pointing to Keels leaving the state of Virginia and playing college basketball else where.

Final Thoughts

As of right now, It seems like Duke is the team to beat for Trevor Keels. The chance to play for one the top programs in the country is hard to pass up. Villanova should not be counted out in this recruitment but my prediction is he will pick The Blue Devils.
