Game Preview

Dallas and Cleveland have had two very memorable games in Cowboys history. When the Cowboys first entered the NFL back in 1960, they were expectedly struggling as an expansion team and got beat by a veteran Cleveland team 48-7. Then in November of 2016, against a new Cleveland franchise, the Cowboys won on on the road in Cleveland, Ohio 35-10. That was Dak Prescotts first season in the NFL taking the place of starting quarterback Tony Romo. That was his only career start against the Browns, making Prescott 1-0 against Cleveland. Can he make it 2-0?

NFL Series Preview

All-time, these two teams have met 31 times, and this Sunday, it will meet for game 32. Even though there have been some spectacular moments, the Browns are leading the series 17-14. In the regular season, Cowboys Vs Browns has been 15-13 in favor of Cleveland. During the playoffs, they have faced off against each other three times. Yet again, the Browns lead that series 2-1. However, the cowboys have won four out of the last five matchups.

Cleveland Browns

For the Browns, they are currently 2-1 and above .500 for the first time since the 2014 season. That year they had Quarterback Johnny Manziel on the team. For this year’s Cleveland team, they are facing their second NFC east opponent in the young season. Entering Arlington, Texas, the Browns are 19th in the league on scoring offense, 24th on scoring defense, and 20th on overall Special Teams.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have a talented offense lead by quarterback Dak Prescott and receivers Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb. Their problem is on defense, though. Linebackers Sean Lee and Leighton Vander-Esch are on short-term injured reserve and Randy Gregory is suspended until the end of October. Currently, the defense of the Cowboys is struggling to sack the quarterback as well as stopping the offense by scoring points.

Cowboys vs Browns

For both of these teams, it is critical that they win this game on Sunday. For Dallas, they need this win in order to stay in the position they currently sit in the NFC East. Cleveland needs to keep up with Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I think the Cowboys will win this game on Sunday, but it will be close, making Cowboys vs Browns must-see TV.

One bonus stat to mention about quarterback Dak Prescott is that he is better at home than he is on the road. Considering he is playing the next three games at home, he should do well. Dak has been playing well since the slow start to begin the year against the Rams where he only had 6.8 yards per attempt.
