The Chicago Bulls Shooting Guard, Zach Lavine, has been wanting to be traded for some time. The New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets have reportedly sought interest, but what about the Detroit Pistons?

The trade package

The Detroit Pistons would receive:

  • SG Zach Lavine

The Chicago Bulls would receive:

  • G/F Luke Kennard
  • G/F Tony Snell
  • 2020 7th overall pick

What the Chicago Bulls will receive

The best part of this package would be the Detroit Pistons 7th pick overall in the draft. The Bulls already have the 4th overall pick which is leaning toward LaMelo Ball. They can add more top ten talent in the draft with the 7th.

Luke Kennard plus for Zach Lavine
Per Bleacher Report

Luke Kennard has been a up and coming young star in the making for the Pistons. His injuries slowed him down this past season but put up impressive stats when healthy. He averaged 15.8 points a game, 3.5 rebounds a game, 44.2% FG, and 39.9% 3P. He ended his season in December but he had a drastic increase in all his stats.

Per Milwaukee Bucks

Tony Snell has already had a run with the Chicago Bulls but this time he has developed into a decent project in Detroit. Although Snell is most known for play 28 minutes with 0 stats for the Bucks against the Jazz in 2017, he has grown with the Pistons as a bench player. He wont give you a lot of double digit scoring but he is good on defense. He really is just an add-on to the package to make the deal attractively even.

What the Detroit Pistons will receive

Zach Lavine is really the only proven superstar for the Chicago Bulls that can really help jump start the Pistons. He is a very good defensive player with undeniable tools on offense. He is a former 2-time slam dunk champion in 2015 and 2016 while with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Zach Lavine had a set back in 2017 with injuries his first season with Chicago but he has increased his worth the past two seasons. This past season is his best season.

Zach Lavine posted a career high 25.5 points a game, 4.8 rebounds a game, and 4.2 assists a game. He shot 45% from the field, 38% from 3 point range, and a 80% free throw shooter.

This move could definitely benefit from the young talent the Pistons will be bringing back. Christian Wood needs a leader to guide him on the court and with Derrick Rose most likely not being their next year would be perfect to have a at prime player like Lavine.

Zach Lavine will have two more seasons on his contract. His average yearly salary is 19.5 million dollars. The Pistons will be unloading some high cap players but unfortunately will not get a trade for Blake Griffin which is hogging most of the Pistons cap money. It can help if they can get a trade package for Griffin since he is making a ridiculous average of 37 million dollars in the next two years.
