Padres’ Tommy Pham Stabbed on 10/11

Tommy Pham was stabbed during an altercation on Sunday, 10/11/2020. Fortunately, outfielder for MLB’s San Diego Padres will recover fully, but what in the hell is going on in this world these days?

Details on Tommy Pham’s Stabbing

Reports say that Pham was involved in some sort of altercation outside of a strip club in San Diego, and was subsequently stabbed near his vehicle. He was taken to UC San Diego Health for treatment which included surgery.

The club, known as Pacers Showgirls International, is located on Midway Drive in San Diego. The incident occurred around 10:30 PM Sunday night, and according to the San Diego Police Department, a motive for the fight remains unclear. The San Diego Police also say that it remains unclear if there was more than one suspect involved.

According to KSDK, there was an altercation (not involving Pham) near Pham’s vehicle. Once Pham asked those involved in the fight to move away from his vehicle, Pham was “slashed” by a kinife.

The Padres were aware of the incident and released the following statement: “We are aware of the incident last night involving Tommy Pham. He was treated at UC San Diego Health and is currently in good condition. He is expected to make a full recovery. The San Diego Police Department is actively investigating the incident and we will have no further comment at this time.”

Tommy Pham’s injuries

Although Pham’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening by the SDPD and others, Pham was stabbed at least one time in the back, requiring surgery.

Following treatment, Pham thanked those who were involved in his treatment. “I’d like to thank the incredible medical staff at UC San Diego Health for taking such great care of me last night. I truly appreciate the hard work of the SDPD as well as they continue their search for the suspects. While it was a very traumatic and eye-opening experience for me, I’m on the road to recovery and I know I’ll be back to my offseason training routine in no time.”
