The 2019-20 NBA season is officially over after the Lakers beat the Heat in six games to win the championship and their 17th ring. The Lakers and the Celtics each now have 17 championships to their name. Now that the season is over it’s time for the offseason. The dates of the offseason are going to look a lot different with the draft now taking place on November 18th.

Their season ended after losing to the Miami Heat in Game six of the eastern conference finals for the Celtics. The Celtics had a terrific season and showed that they are a team that can go deep in the playoffs. This season the Celtics big three, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kemba Walker, all averaged over 20 points per game in the regular season, the Celtics were the only team in the league that did that this season. It was also only the second time in franchise history that had been done.

Celtics and Pacers Trade Rumors

The offseason will be fascinating for Boston, who currently has three first-round picks in the upcoming draft. The Celtics are a few pieces away from being finals contenders, and one of those pieces could come from the Indiana Pacers. There have been many rumors that have involved the Celtics and the Pacers, possibly a trade involving Gordon Hayward, who has a 34 million dollar player option, which he most likely will pick up. If he does pick it up, there’s a chance that he will be leaving Boston. Indiana could be a perfect fit for Hayward, considering he was born and raised in Indiana, and the Pacers are now starting up the rebuild process.

Victor Oladipo

Victor Oladipo is one player might want out of the Pacers organization, Oladipo, who was out for most of last season due to a ruptured quadriceps tendon. In his career, which has been with three different teams, Oladipo has averaged 17.3 points over his career in a total of 421 games. Oladipo could be the perfect player to help get the Celtics to banner 18.

The Trade

Celtics receive:

  • Victor Oladipo

Pacers receive:

  • Gordon Hayward
  • Romeo Langford
  • BOS 1st round pick (14)
  • BOS 1st round pick (26)

Myles Turner

Turner is another player that will most likely leave the Pacers this offseason for a new team; Turner would be a great fit in Boston who needs help for the center position. During the series against the Heat, Boston struggled to shut down Heat big man Bam Adebayo. Turner would help out a lot with matchups like Adebayo and Joel Embiid. Turner would also help out on the scoring side too. In his five years in the league, all with the Pacers, he has averaged 12.7 points per game and 6.7 rebounds.

The Trade

Celtics receive:

  • Myles Turner

Pacers receive:

  • Gordon Hayward
  • BOS 1st round pick (30)

Overview

This offseason, you will see some Celtics trades go down, they might not be with the Pacers, but if so, those are some of the trades I think could happen. Boston is also looking for some wing players that can hit the threes, so that’s another thing the Celtics will probably scout for this offseason. Boston could also not make any blockbuster trades this offseason and rely on the draft to get a good player that fits the team’s needs; with three picks in the first round, they have lots of things they can do with those picks, including trading up in the draft to select an elite prospect like James Wiseman or Lamelo Ball

At the end of the offseason, you can bet you will see a few new faces wearing green and white.
