Ty Lue Heads to Clippers JVG Now Houston Rockets Best Option.

Ty Lue and the Los Angeles Clippers have just agreed on a five-year deal to make Lue their next head coach.

Lue was reportedly one of the Houston Rockets prime targets to fill their head coach vacancy after the recent departure of Mike D’Antoni. Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

With Lue now headed elsewhere, what does this mean for the Rockets and their coach search? It now means that Jeff Van Gundy will likely be the next head coach of the Houston Rockets. Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Jeff Van Gundy is no stranger when it comes to coaching in Houston. In fact, JVG’s last head coaching position was nearly 13 years ago with the Houston Rockets. JVG coached the Rockets for four seasons, from 2003-2004 to the 2006-2007 NBA season.

In his short stint with the Houston, Rockets JVG accumulated a 182-146 record. He led the Rockets to three above .500 seasons in that span and three playoff appearances.

Conclusion:

With Ty Lue now headed to the Los Angeles Clippers, one can only imagine that JVG is the next best candidate for the Houston Rockets head coaching vacancy. How do you feel about JVG potentially returning to Houston?
