Ravens Make Two Bold Moves

Just when you think the Baltimore Ravens can’t get any better, they make a remarkable trade. This time, for DE Yannick Ngakoue. Before we get into details let’s remind you the recent history of transactions with Ngakoue.

Today the Baltimore Ravens made two great moves that will send shockwaves through the entire NFL. The Ravens have been able to bolster their defensive line and they were able to sign a long time Wide Receiver that’s been trying to get back into the game.

Yannick Ngakoue

A few months ago the Jacksonville Jaguars traded Yannick Ngakoue to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2021 second-round pick and a 2022 fifth-round pick. Since joining the Vikings he was actually on his way to a career year. In just five games he collected 5 sacks, 12 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, and 7 quarterback hits. It’s a big surprise they Vikings couldn’t flip the star defender for a better draft pick. The Ravens only had to gave up a 2021 third-round pick and a 2022 fifth-round pick.

Ravens new additions

This is all part of a continuous cycle of bad news for the Minnesota Vikings. They are one of the worst teams in the NFL, they lost to a winless team last week and then they just admitted defeat on this trade. Regardless to say, this looks like the Vikings are punting on the season.

This trade has been in the works for a while now. Ngakoue is from Maryland and would rather play for a team with Super Bowl aspiration– along with being closer to family.

There is another reason why this is such a great move. The Baltimore Ravens already have DE Calais Campbell. Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue both played on the Jacksonville Jaguars together and know how to work in tandem. This makes it a great homecoming in so many ways.

Dez Bryant

The Baltimore Ravens weren’t done. They are also expected to sign Wide Receiver Dez Bryant . He is expected to be signed to their practice squad, as long as he can pass a physical.

There is a interesting story to this also.

The Baltimore Ravens originally intended to sign Wide Receiver Antonio Brown. This totally made sense because Quarterback Lamar Jackson has been lobbying for him and his cousin is ravens Wide Receiver Hollywood Brown . Antonio might even be the best Wide Receiver on the market, but he also comes with locker room baggage. The Ravens decided to go with the smaller headache.

What does he have left?

Dez Bryant is 31 years old. He has been a free agent for the past 3 seasons. There is no clue how much he has left in the tank, but it will be exciting to find out. The last time Dez played in the NFL he tore his Achilles. That in itself is hard to come back from, especially when you are off for years at a time.
