LFA 94: Demopoulos vs. Godinez Preview

Legacy Fighting Alliance returns this Friday from Park City, Kansas, United States, with another action-packed night of fights. A total of 8 bouts will take place at LFA 94. The Women’s Strawweight title takes centre stage, as Vanessa Demopoulos and Lupita Godinez clash in the main event.

Vanessa Demopoulos v Lupita Godinez

Vanessa Demopoulos (5-2) looks to make the first defence of her Strawweight crown after securing the title at LFA 85, with a win over Sam Hughes.

A month after snatching the belt, Demopoulos earned the opportunity to fight in front of UFC President Dana White on the Contender Series. Unfortunately, Demopoulos dropped a unanimous decision loss to Welsh native Cory McKenna, who snapped the four-fight winning streak of the 32-year-old.

Demopoulos has shown previously that she’s a threat in the submission department, bringing a 60% submission rate to the table. Something Godinez will be aware of heading into the bout.

Lupita Godinez (4-0), sacrifices her unbeaten record this Friday for an opportunity to attain her first title as a professional. The squeaky clean record speaks for the success of ‘Loopy’ in the early stages of her career.

Godinez made her professional debut in 2018 and, since then, had an extremely active 2019, competing three times within six months.

Demopoulos will be confident heading into Friday being the more active of the two athletes. Ring rust could potentially play a factor and hinder the performance of Godinez, as she’s been out of competition for one year.

On Friday night, we will get answers.
