Martin Nguyen: “This Is My Legacy, This Is The Ultimate Journey”

On October 30th, we will witness one of the best cards in the promotion’s history with ONE: Inside The Matrix. In one of the Co-main events, Martin Nguyen is on a mission to strengthen his legacy as he defends his featherweight belt against a dangerous opponent, Thanh Le.

Your perseverance and motivation in every fight have inspired many young and aspiring athletes. How does it make you feel that you carry a lot of hope in the youth?

“Your resilience, the way you come out of adversity everything like that. It kinda motivates us. This is what we work hard for. For us at the time we have realize that this is what builds character”

You have gone up and down in weight divisions. Saying you successfully defend your belt this 30th, would you stay and defend the featherweight belt for good?

“This is my legacy. The featherweight division is where I belong. Going up in the lightweight division, doesn’t motivate me. Going down division to bantamweight, still doesn’t motivate me.” At the moment, everything is at featherweight for me, I feel good, that’s why I feel safe and healthy, and at my best.”
