Week 9: Detroit Lions Studs and Duds

I’ll keep this short as I bring you my studs and duds from this week’s Detroit Lions game. There were not many that stood out for the better, but even though the Lions got pounded once more, there is always a couple of bright spots. The trouble is finding them but don’t be worried, though, as I have found them for you so you don’t have to think about this game ever again.

Studs:

1. WR Danny Amendola

Amendola had seven reception on 10 targets for 77 yards. This was the best game of the year so far for the aging slot receiver. The Lions needed someone to step up in the absence of Kenny Golladay, and Amendola was the man for the job.

2. WR Marvin Jones

Jones had another touchdown on Sunday, moving him into second on the team in touchdowns. he now sits behind only tight end TJ Hockenson. In addition to the touchdown, Jones had three reception for 43 yards.

3. DE Romeo Okwara

Okwara finds himself on this list three weeks in a row due to his numerous plays made. This week it included a blocked punt, and it has been a pretty nice contract year so far. The Notre Dame product already has five sacks to his name.

Duds:

1. QB Matthew Stafford

Stafford had a roller coaster of a game, to say the least. He started out 16 of 17 passing and was doing an amazing job. Unfortunately, that’s where everything changed. Stafford then proceeded to throw not one but two terrible interceptions and ended up costing his team a couple of possessions.

2. K Matt Prater

Prater missed yet another field goal. He is kicking under 75% for the season and he seems to have regressed. As I have said in past editions of these, it may be time for the Lions to start looking for their new kicker in the offseason.

3. LB Jamie Collins

Collins had a rough game, and that is being nice. Even though he leads the team in tackles, he allowed multiple caches and missed a few tackles as well. It’s a rare event that Collins finds himself on this list, and I don’t believe he will be making a habit out of it.
