ONE Championship surpassed the 10 count streak of successfully launching their amazing events. ONE: Inside the Matrix III marks their 11th one since returning to the activity that was disrupted because of the COVID-19 pandemic. So far, ONE Championship’s events have been blockbusters as fans have been enjoying the massive action presented to them by the ONE Fighters.
On ONE: Inside the Matrix, the promotion made history by combining 4 title fights in one card. Included in those title fights are the biggest names in the promotion with the likes of Aung La Nsang, Christian Lee, and Martin Nguyen. The champions put their belts on the line and although some failed to defend, it was an entertaining match that they delivered.
Through the number of events that ONE Championship has launched, there are still fighters that we haven’t see. Although some of these are non-title fights, it is undeniable that these are the fights that should be presented next. These fighters have big names in the world of combat sports, and coincidentally, they also are entertaining to watch.
Here are the 5 fights that fans badly wants to see next!
Garry Tonon vs Koyomi Matsushima

A Jiu-Jitsu star transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts and is undefeated so far in his run. Garry Tonon is the hottest prospect in the promotion right now. The 29-year-old American is the #5 ranked contender in the ONE featherweight division and has wrecked and finished all of his 5 opponents. In each and every fight, he has shown enormous potential as he displayed vast improvements in his arsenal.
The #3 ranked Koyomi Matsushima also had the same situation. Koyomi shocked the world when he knocked out the former division champion Marat Gafurov. In just 2 fights in the promotion, he got the chance at a title shot, but Martin Nguyen spoiled his hopes when the champion knocked out Koyomi. Now, Koyomi is on a 1 fight win streak and looks to derail the hype train of Garry Tonon.
The fight was being talked to happen at the ONE: Next Generation event on November 20. However, that date is already booked for ONE: Inside the Matrix IV. This matchup could potentially be a title eliminator, challenging the current ONE Featherweight Champion Thanh Le.
Nong-O Gaiyanghadao vs Rodlek P.K. Saenchaimuaythaigym

To those who have been keeping an eye on the promotion’s ONE Super Series events and matches know that this is currently the most anticipated fight in the Muay Thai branch. Even if you are not much of a fan of ONE Championship or Muay Thai, if you love action then you must love this fight. A fight where every strike makes the crowd shout due to the entertainment is something we all can’t wait for.
Rodlek P.K. Saenchaimuaythaigym also known as “The Steel Locomotive” is an all-out brawler and power puncher who loves to pressure and be the aggressor always moving forward. Rodlek once faced a 6-fight losing streak but revived his career by beating the famous Liam Harrison. He participated in ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Grand Prix but lost to Saemapetch Fairtex. Fortunately for Rodlek, Saemapetch was injured and unable to continue. He had his second chance and ultimately knocked out Kulabdam Sor.Jor.Piek-U-Thai. He became the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Grand Prix Tournament Champion and won a shot to challenge the Champion, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao.
Nong-O Gaiyanghadao is famous for having it all. Nong-O has championships in the prestigious Lumpinee and Rajadamnern stadiums. He also currently has 3 defenses in his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title. If you are a Muay Thai fan, you’ve probably known Nong-O as the real deal. Nong-O has speed, power, precision, and accuracy in his strikes. He is comfortable at fighting aggressively while being technical at the same time.
A fight between two powerful, explosive, and tough fighters, this is a dream matchup for fans. Rodlek will definitely get his granite chin tested, and Nong-O will have to deal with immense pressure. It is expected that they fight each other next but there is no date yet.
Eddie Alvarez vs Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev or Antonio Caruso

Who doesn’t want to see “The Underground King” Eddie Alvarez climb up in the ONE Octagon? The former Bellator and UFC Champion has always brought excitement every time he gets booked with an opponent. Eddie Alvarez hasn’t fought in more than a year. He was supposed to fight Dagi Arslanaliev in the ONE Lightweight Grand Prix finals but was forced to remove himself due to injury. That cost him a possible shot at the belt and becoming a champion in 3 MMA major promotions.
Eddie Alvarez and Dagi Arslanaliev were rescheduled to happen in the middle of 2020 but due to COVID-19, it did not happen. Then again, ONE Championship president Chatri Sityodtong said that the match is targeted to happen early in 2021. This fight will not be a title eliminator this time as Timofey Nastyukhin earned that right after his win versus Pieter Buist in the Inside the Matrix II event.
Antonio Caruso comes into the conversation after he called out Eddie Alvarez in an interview. With Alvarez vs Arslanaliev not yet finalized, there is still a chance that Antonio steals the fight. Antonio Caruso actually well matches with Alvarez stylistically. Antonio defeated the former ONE Lightweight champion Eduard Folayang, and rose in the division rankings.
Eddie Alvarez versus either man is something to look forward to. Even though Alvarez is targeted for next year, it is something that fans can’t wait to watch.
Alain Ngalani vs Vitor Belfort

Isn’t it lovely to see heavyweight knockout artists go against each other? As thrilling as it is, fans love to see highlights. This is what Vitor Belfort vs Alain Ngalani would offer to everyone.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort signed with ONE Championship in early 2019 but still hasn’t fought a single fight in the promotion. It was expected that he makes his ONE debut in 2020 against Alain Ngalani as talked about in the promotion. However, due to the pandemic, it was postponed.
The Phenom vs The Panther would get everyone clinging at the edge of their seats. Although because both fighters haven’t fought in more than a year, these heavyweights could have a stamina issue. But as they have shown in their respective social media accounts, they are in tremendous shape and conditioning. It is very possible that this fight happens inside 2020.
Demetrious Johnson vs Adriano Moraes

Last but not the least, this is arguably the biggest one that fans have been longing to witness. ONE Championship’s greatest flyweight against the greatest flyweight of all time. Adriano Moraes puts his belt on the line against Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, the man who holds a spot in the GOAT discussions.
Demetrious has been on a storm since being traded and signing with the promotion. Demetrious dominated 3 top contenders in just a 7-month span. With that, Demetrious became the winner of the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix, in October 2019. ‘Mighty Mouse’ was next in line at a title shot with the champion Adriano Moraes.
Adriano Moraes is the only three-time champion in ONE Championship history. The Champion holds a record of 18 wins and 3 losses, with all losses coming via split-decision. Moraes proves he is a tough matchup for anyone, especially because of his size and length in the flyweight division. Moraes is the champion but everyone sees him as the underdog in the matchup.
Demetrious Johnson vs Adriano Moraes was already booked and scheduled to happen in May 2020, but unfortunately COVID-19 pandemic forced the promotion to postpone the event. Demetrious went back to the USA in the meantime. Both fighters are staying in shape in anticipation of the fight.
Who doesn’t want to see this fight? Demetrious Johnson vs Adriano Moraes should be the next main event that ONE Championship books.
