Cavs draft Isaac Okoro

It was announced Wednesday during the 2020 NBA Draft that the Cleveland Cavaliers would select F Isaac Okoro from Auburn. Okoro is listed at 6’6″ with a 6’9″ wingspan and weighs in at 225 pounds.

The lengthy small forward will be the clear-cut best defender on the Cavs from day one. He averaged 12.9 PPG, 4.4 RPG and 2 APG. He also averaged 0.9 blocks and 0.9 steals per game. Okoro is one of the most athletic players in the draft and is considered the best defender in his class.

In my personal rankings, I had Okoro listed as the second-best player in the class behind LaMelo Ball, who was selected two spots ahead of him by the Hornets.

Cavs fans should be very happy about this pick because Okoro is a player the Cavs don’t currently have and one they haven’t had in years. His potential is sky high and he could become one of the best two way players in the league if he develops a more consistent jump shot.

Great job, Koby Altman.
