The long-awaited return of Garry Tonon will now come to an end as he is set to fight Koyomi Matsushima on ONE: Big Bang. ONE: Big Bang is scheduled for December 4, 2020 (Friday). Garry Tonon vs Koyomi Matsushima will be the co-main event of the card. Headlining it will be ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion Roman Kryklia defending his belt against Murat Aygün.
Garry Tonon and Koyomi Matsushima have been in talks for a long time. Tonon originally revealed that the fight will happen at the ONE: Next Generation event on November 20. However, the match was not booked as ONE launched the Inside the Matrix IV on the same date.
The Jiu-Jitsu star turned into a Mixed Martial Artist Garry Tonon is undefeated so far in his run. The 29-year-old American is the #5 ranked contender in the ONE featherweight division and has wrecked and finished all of his 5 opponents. Koyomi Matsushima is coming off a knockout win, following his world title loss against then-champion Martin Nguyen.
This match is a possible title-eliminator, the winner of which may face Thanh Le, given that the champion won’t have an immediate rematch against Martin Nguyen.
Will Garry Tonon continue his dominant run, or will Koyomi Matsushima stop the hype train? This intriguing match gives an exciting build-up!
