Two highly regarded MMA coaches have been suspended after Bellator 253 and their fighter Jason Jackson has been fined.
Henri Hooft and Greg Jones have been suspended for three months by The Mohegan Tribe Athletic Department after breaking the standard COVID-19 protocol. A video surfaced online of the coaches training with their athlete and breaking quarantine.
Mike Mazzulli told MMA Junkie “It’s erroneous (and) disrespectful to Bellator and the industry in general.”
Jason Jackson who climbed to (13-4), defeated the experienced Benson Henderson by unanimous decision. However, the victory came with a $1,000 fine for the breach of protocol. Jackson handed the situation well and took full responsibility for his coaches.
Mike Mazzulli stated the fines are directed at the coaches, not the fighter. The intention that the coaches will pay the fighter back.
