Happy Thanksgiving, Baseball Fans

It may seem a little cliche’, but I thought I’d take a few minutes this Thanksgiving morning to share some thoughts with you, our valued readers. Beyond the obligatory list of family, friends, and health, here are some of the work-related things that I’m appreciative of this Thanksgiving.

First of all, I’m thankful for each and every one of you who visit the site and read the things that we have to say. We may not always agree, but that’s OK. Disagreement sparks debate, and I’m always thankful for that.

After the pandemic this year, I’m thankful that we were able to have an MLB season, even if it was shortened. Most of us would agree that Rob Manfred isn’t doing the game any favors, but I’m thankful that he and the MLBPA were able to work something out so that we could enjoy some Major League Baseball action this past summer and fall.

With a little luck, we’ll have “normal” baseball in 2021, and for that, I’d be extremely thankful. Even without having ball games this time of year, we have MLB hot stove, and it’s starting to heat up.

We’re now a month into the offseason, with just a little over three months until spring training is scheduled to begin. This may be a rough winter for free agency, but soon, you’ll see players starting to sign, as the 2021 season starts taking shape. No, your team may not get the player that you’re hoping for, but be thankful that you can watch these guys display their talent, no matter what jersey they wear.

A Thanksgiving Gift For Our Readers

Many of you may have noticed that the site was down for the last several hours. We’ve changed hosts in order to increase the speed of the site and to decrease the chances that it goes down unexpectedly.

We’re undergoing a lot of changes at OTH, and those changes will benefit you, the reader, as well as our staff, as we’ll now be able to give you what we hope will be a much better product. A lot of work has gone into the remodeling, but it will all be worth it for all of us (and you), once the changes are complete. As the saying goes, “pardon our dust, we’re remodeling.”

Obviously, you all have a choice as to what sites you visit, and I’m thankfull that you take the time to visit ours.

Happy Thanksgiving to My Writers

As one of the Department Heads at Overtime Heroics (yes, they actually trusted me to be the boss…), I wanted to say how thankful I was for all of my writers. Some are older, while others are still in high school, but each of them is passionate about the sport. Juggling work and/or school schedules isn’t easy for a lot of them, yet they still find the time and dedication to write. To each of you, I wish a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

In closing, I wanted to take the time once again to wish each of you a happy and safe Thanksgiving, and a joyous holiday season.
