3 New Changes in the ONE: Big Bang Card

ONE Championship has made significant changes in their ONE: Big Bang card. Scheduled to happen on December 4 (Friday), the original fight card will not be followed as planned. There will be a new opponent, new fight, and a cancelled bout.

Danny Kingad vs Kairat Akhmetov Bout Removed

In a very unfortunate circumstance, the return of “The King” Danny Kingad will be delayed once more. #2 ranked flyweight contender Danny Kingad supposedly will face #3-ranked flyweight contender Kairat Akhmetov. However, as per reports, the fight is off due to one of Danny Kingad’s cornermen testing positive for COVID-19.

The cancellation will be the second time for this much-anticipated fight. The two were also booked to face each other in the One Flyweight World Grand Prix semifinals, but Akhemtov had to pull out due to an injury.

Amir Aliakbari will face a new opponent

Amir Aliakbari was supposed to fight the Russian titan Islam Abasov. This was one of the most anticipated fights in this card as these two heavy-handed heavyweights sure do deliver fireworks. However, per reports, Islam Abasov is detained in Moscow after a road conflict. ONE: Big Bang

Amir Aliakbari currently has no opponent yet. Although Abasov was removed, Aliakbari will remain on the card and ONE Championship will look for a short-notice replacement.

Bokang Masunyane vs Rene Catalan Fight Added

Due to Danny Kingad vs Kairat Akhmetov being scratched, a fight between former strawweight world title contender Rene “The Challenger” Catalan and Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane will be added to the card.

The Filipino Rene Catalan will compete for the first time since dropping a fight against a fellow countryman, and now ONE strawweight champion Joshua Pacio.
