Even though we have known that Gordon Hayward was going to be playing for the Charlotte Hornets next year for over a week now, we didn’t know if Boston was going to get something back. In the deal, the Celtics are sending Gordon Hayward and two future second-round draft picks to the Hornets in exchange for a conditional future second-round draft pick. The TPE is the biggest trade exception in NBA history and is worth 27.9 million, the Celtics have 12 months to go and use that TPE to sign a player. With the NBA season starting up in a few weeks, we will see if Boston’s front office does something except before the start of the season.
