By now I’m sure you’re all aware of the worldwide pandemic that we have been subjected to since February. The said pandemic brought an end to many things we hold close, which included the postponement of several ONE Championship cards, between the 28th February 2020 until its return on 31st July 2020. Since its return in July, we have been entertained by 12 cards full of talent, but there have been some fan-favorite names missing, below I am going to take a look at three fighters, whose returns are highly anticipated.

Phoe Thaw

It has been over a year, since we last saw the 36-year-old Myanmar native Phoe Thaw, at ONE Championship’s biggest card to date in ONE: Centuries. In this event, Thaw was subjected to a first-round submission defeat against Chang Min Yoon. That being said, Thaw has become a huge fan favorite in particular amongst the large Myanmar fan base held by ONE. Known for his terrifying striking from his Lethwei background, Thaw at 36 years old will be looking to waste little time in getting back in there and back in the win column.

Bi Nguyen

It has also been over a year since we last saw, Bi ‘Killer Bee’ Nguyen, also on the back of a loss against the Thai sensation Stamp Fairtex. Nguyen is the definition of size doesn’t matter, at 4 foot 11 inches tall, this strawweight shows her ferocious side every time she steps into ONE arena. Her never-say-die attitude and the bulldog-like fight has made her a popular choice amongst the fans. Currently sitting at 2-2 in ONE Championship Nguyen will be looking at getting back in there and showing us the fighting spirit that we have been missing for too long.

Joshua Pacio

‘The Passion’ is the current Flyweight champion and on the back of a three-fight win streak, most recently a split decision victory over Alex Silva back in January. The Filipino sensation will be looking to get the popular Team Lakay back to winning ways, it wasn’t too long ago that they had a stable full of champions. But as of recent, times haven’t been so kind to the formidable team. Pacio will be looking to bring his entertaining style of fighting and deadly submission skills back to ONE and again bring pride back to the Philippines and Team Lakay.
