Champions League Draws Sure to Deliver

As the Champions League draw was made on Monday, some interesting fixtures came up, promising an interesting campaign to the final. There were three Premier League teams, and they were all awarded tough fixtures. Chelsea was handed a tough draw against Atletico Madrid, Liverpool will face RB Leipzig, while Manchester City has Borussia Monchengladbach.

Barcelona will square it with PSG in what is considered the biggest clash in the last 16. Other teams such as Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich were awarded what would be considered favourable draws on paper. However, this is the Champions League and the beauty of it is that small teams sometimes upset the big boys making it a fun and interesting competition. If you fancy your chances with how the fixtures will turn out, you may want to consider betting for your favourite teams at legit sites like this.

Tough Champions League draw

The match between Barcelona vs PSG was the headline for the last 16. It will be a rematch of the 2017 tie that saw Barcelona come from 4-0 down in the first leg to win the tie 6-5 thanks to a Neymar masterclass. However, he will now be on the opposite side facing his former teammate Lionel Messi. This could be Messi"s final Champions League campaign for Barcelona after his transfer request was turned down.

Atletico vs Chelsea is another tough fixture to look out for. Under Frank Lampard"s tenure, Chelsea has shown signs of becoming a formidable force both at home and in Europe. On the other hand, Diego Simeone"s side is also performing well at home, and it will present an opportunity for Diego Costa to return to Stamford Bridge.

Other fixtures

As reigning champions, Bayern Munich will fancy their chances of progressing after drawing Lazio. They are also favourites to retain the trophy they won.

Real Madrid will also believe they have a strong chance of making it to the quarter-finals after being drawn against Atalanta. However, Atalanta will not be a walk in the park, especially when you take into consideration their run in the previous campaign when they reached the quarterfinals.

Manchester City will also have a strong claim of making it past the Round of 16 when they face Borussia Monchengladbach. However, they will need to be cautious with the unpredictability of this German side that outclassed Real Madrid.

RB Leipzig and Liverpool will be an interesting fixture, especially after the German side emerged from a difficult group that included Manchester United and PSG. Leipzig showed resilience in the Group stage to eliminate Manchester United having suffered a 5-0 loss in the reverse fixtures.

The other tie between Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla, the reigning Europa League champions could also go either way.

Ronaldo will have a chance of returning to his native home when his Juventus side faceoff with Porto. As he will be turning 36 when the competition resumes, Cristiano Ronaldo will see this as the best chance to win the competition with Juventus after achieving huge success in the competition when he was at Real Madrid.
