The 2021 MLB Free Agent rumors are changing rapidly every day for the Blue Jays. Toronto has been linked to every major free agent on the market. It’s no secret that the Blue Jays will be looking to make the “big splash” for the right free agent.

2021 MLB Free Agent Rumors: Trevor Bauer

The Toronto Blue Jays have also been linked to every top pitcher available in free agency. Most recently reports surfaced that starting pitcher Trevor Bauer spoke with the Toronto Blue Jays on a video call on New Year’s Eve.

Bauer posted a video on his Twitter account, saying that he was meeting with Toronto Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker, and the Blue Jays High-Performance Coach. Bauer is a bonafide starter and his arm is what the Blue Jays need to have a dominant starting pitching rotation. In 2020, Bauer started 11 games finishing with a 5-4 record, and a 1.73 ERA, also racking up 100 strikeouts.

2021 MLB Free Agent Rumors: Tomoyuki Sugano

The Toronto Blue Jays are once again linked to a highly sought after pitcher from Japan, Tomoyuki Sugano. The 31-Year old right-hander landing in Toronto wouldn’t be a surprise for many. The Blue Jays welcomed current ace, Hyun-Jin Ryu last season, although Ryu has been in MLB since 2013 Ryu at 33-years old went on to have a dominant season with the Blue Jays earning the 2020 Warren Spahn Award as the best Left-handed pitcher in MLB.

Tomoyuki Sugano has a couple more days to sign a deal that suites him before his 30-day window ends, the final day is January 7th, 2021. Sugano and Toronto have a mutual interest in signing a deal, with reports surfacing that Toronto and the Mets were the two teams left chasing him. In the latest reports, it seems the New York Mets have moved on from chasing the pitcher from Kanagawa, Japan.

2021 MLB Free Agent Rumors: George Springer

The Toronto Blue Jays have been attached to outfielder George Springer since the opening of free agency. The Blue Jays and the New York Mets have reportedly made it as the final two teams still in on the talented outfielder. George Springer was a problem for most pitchers when he was at-bat in 2020. Springer ended the season batting .263, with 14 home runs.

Springer and the Blue Jays would be a good fit as he would help solidify the Blue Jays outfield and bring some more firepower to the plate. The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to return to an annual playoff contender in MLB, George Springer will surely give them a boost to reaching that goal for years to come.

2021 MLB Free Agent Rumors: Blue Jays Staying Patient

The Toronto Blue Jays are clearly in no rush to make a move for any of these MLB free agents. With the days ticking away on the Tomoyuki Sugano sweepstakes, there is plenty of rumors swirling. The Blue Jays have an abundance of youth throughout their 2021 lineup and adding a veteran pitcher such as Trevor Bauer would definitely solidify their dominance and mark them as a contender for a World Series championship.
