In the Latest MLB News, Tommy John has been hospitalized. The former MLB pitcher has been hospitalized due to COVID-19. The former Los Angeles Dodger left-hander is in the hospital near his home in Indio, California. He has been feeling ill for nearly three weeks but has only just been admitted to hospital with complications.

The 77-year old MLB hurler has had complications since he returned from a trip to Tennessee. The biggest complication was with his breathing and he needed oxygen when first taken to the hospital, however, Tommy John is no longer on oxygen. The two-decade veteran had a battle with pneumonia as well, reports state he has made it through that. Tommy John has not lost his sense of smell or taste as of late but has felt the virus in other ways, most notably he has lost strength in his legs.
Tommy John spoke with The Associated Press over the phone and had this to say about being a Corona Virus Denier, “I’m not a denier. I’ve had it, baby.”

The 26-year MLB veteran split his time between six teams from 1963 to 1989. The left-hander began with the New York Yankees, he went on to play for the Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, Cleveland Indians, and the Oakland A’s
Tommy John finished his impressive career with 288 wins and 231 losses. Known by many as “Bionic Man” and remembered for the ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction to his left elbow, the surgery was eventually named after him by everyone in baseball.
