The Toronto Blue Jays remained quiet while big-name players continued to sign elsewhere, consistently leaving Toronto as runner-ups. CEO Mark Shapiro changed that quickly with three signings in two days, including the addition of outfielder George Springer.

George Springer will solidify the 2021 Blue Jays outfield. Now 31-years old, he had 14 home runs and 50 hits and finished with a .265 batting average in 2020 with the Houston Astros. In seven seasons with the Astros, George Springer totaled 832 hits, 174 home runs, and a career .270 batting average. Houston is the only team the outfielder has ever played for.
The Toronto Blue Jays will welcome the consistent bat and the experience George Springer brings along with him, World Series Championship experience. Add the two pitchers signed in the last 24 hours, Kirby Yates and Tyler Chatwood, and the Blue Jays are serious playoff contenders in 2021.
