B1G Basketball Final Scores

Purdue Boilermakers came into a battle with the #15 Ohio State Buckeyes, with both teams sitting at 5-3. The Boilers were able to get 2 late threes from Sasha Stefanovic and Jaden Ivey to pull the upset in Columbus.

Both players would each have 15 points and were led by Trevion Williams with 16 points and 7 rebounds in a 67-65 W.

#22 Illinois was led by big man Kofi Cockburn with 21 points and 12 rebounds in a 79-65 W over Penn State.

#7 Michigan got back on track with a 87-63 win over Maryland. Michigan suffered their first loss of the season at Minnesota in their last game. Michigan’s defense continues to be all over the floor and their length continues to cause problems for the opposition. Isaiah Livers led the way with 20 points and Franz Wagner added 15 points and 6 rebounds

#10 Wisconsin gave Northwestern their 6th straight loss as they continue to slide in a 68-52 defeat. It was a balanced effort for the Badgers as they had 4 players in double figures.

B1G Basketball Upcoming Matchups

Tonight’s lineup is led off with two struggling programs trying to get on track. Rutgers on a four game losing streak and 3-5 in conference travels to play the Penn State Nittany Lions who have lost five straight and 0-5 in conference. The game can be seen on BTN.

Marquee matchup has the Indiana Hoosiers sitting 3-4 in B1G Basketball play so far and traveling against heavy favorite Luka Garza and the Iowa Hawkeyes. With a win, The Hawkeyes would be tied for 1st with the Michigan Wolverines at 7-1. Two National Player of the Year candidates will take the floor as Trayce Jackson-Davis leads the Hoosiers with 20.4 PPG and 8.9 Rebounds. As mentioned the Hawkeyes are led by Luka Garza who is currently getting 26.9 PPG and 8.7 Rebounds. Hawkeyes have shooters surrounding Garza and will be the difference in this game as the Hoosiers currently have the worst three-point percentage defense in the league giving up 40.4% from downtown. In B1G Basketball conference play, the Hoosiers are shooting just 31.4% from deep.

In these matchups, I see Rutgers getting off the snide and Iowa continue to roll and gets the home win.

B1G Basketball Friday Night Matchup

The Michigan Wolverines travel to Mackey Arena to face the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday night. Both teams so far have exceeded expectations as Michigan’s 2nd year coach Juwan Howard has the team playing strong defense and playing incredibly efficient on the offensive end.

Purdue’s Coach Matt Painter continues to do more with less, and this would be set for a wild night if the students were allowed to rock the place. With these teams there will be a lot of energy on both sides. Without the crowd, I see Michigan getting it done with a narrow victory and taking back first place from the Hawkeyes after being tied for one evening (if the above prediction is correct). Here is some highlights from last years matchup.
