After a historic night at UFC 257, we saw two historic upsets as both Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier finished their opponents by TKO/KO. Leading everybody at Overtime Heroics to ask, what will be the next Conor Mcgregor fight? After a loss like that, “The Notorious” might be on the shelf for a while yet, although he did say in his post fight interview:

”It’s hard to overcome inactivity, over long periods of time… I just wasn’t as active as I needed to be… I just need to dust it off, and I’ll be back, and that’s what I’ll do”

The next Conor Mcgregor Fight?

So we know that Conor still wants an active year, but we don’t know the name of his next opponent! Time to put on the hats of the matchmakers, and ask, what’s the next Conor Mcgregor fight? First, I’ll pass the reins to my colleague Leo Johnson and let him speculate!

Leo Johnson-

Conor had big success in his contest with Dustin, but ultimately couldn’t handle the relentless pressure of the diamond. As for whats next, I think there are a lot of options. You have the Diaz trilogy, Tony Ferguson would also make sense, but the fight I think needs to be made is the formerly highly anticipated contest against Rafael Dos Anjos. Both fighter pose a similar threat on the feet especially after seeing a vulnerability with calf kicks against Mcgregor. This is such an interesting match up for not only these fighters but the division itself.

Ah, beautiful words by Leo there! He believes RDA should be the next opponent for Conor, and I’ve got to say, it does make sense! Now, as for me, I think the next opponent for Conor is easy. Give him Nate Diaz, let them settle the trilogy, and we go from there!

Let’s say that the UFC and Conor don’t go that way, though. Who else could be the next Conor Mcgregor fight? I think it’s easy. Dan “The Hangman” Hooker! Anyways, that’s all folks! I believe the only options for Conor is a Nate Diaz trilogy fight, or a battle with the once surging prospect Dan Hooker! As always, enjoy the fights!
