Tonight the Boston Bruins looked like they were sleeping though-out the first two periods. They went into the locker room after the second period down by two. David Pastrnak‘s goal in the second period is what I believe made them come out swinging in the third period. Up until then, it was hard to swallow the one-timer by former Bruins Captian Zdeno Chara, which was the Washington Capitals‘ first goal. Bruins fans were shaking their heads after that because it was only shortly after the Bruins challenged the first original goal for offsides and won the challenge. Chara turned and nailed it by Jaroslav Halak.
Boston Bruins Miraculous Third Period Win!!!
Even listening to Jack and Brick, the Bruins commenters sounded lifeless during the first two periods. But then, in the third period, the Bruins exploded! At 6:08 into the third period, Pastrnak, off a pass from Jakub Zboril, found the net, making the score 3-2, and then they never looked back. Craig Smith‘s goal at 13:07. Brandon Carlo‘s goal at 17:23 and to put the cherry on top an empty-net goal from Brad Marchand off of a pass from David Krejci that he took from Caps captain Alex Ovechkin.
This game was the first loss in regulation for the Capitals since the start of the 2020-21 season. One can only imagine the excitement in the locker room after this game. Not to mention the excitement that the Boston Bruins fans felt seeing such an unbelievable comeback!
Catch the next B’s game on Wednesday at 8 pm, where they take on the Philadelphia Flyers in Philly! The game will be broadcasted on NBCSN. To quote the great Jack Edwards: “BE THERE!”
