Latest MLB News: Jordan Yamamoto Acquired by New York Mets

In the latest MLB news, the New York Mets have acquired right-handed pitcher Jordan Yamamoto in a trade with the Miami Marlins. In return, the Miami Marlins received infielder Federico Polanco, a minor league player in the Mets’ system.

Latest MLB News: Yamamoto the Newest New York Mets Addition

Jordan Yamamoto, now 25 years old, will take his talents to the New York Mets. The right-handed pitcher has been in MLB for two seasons, coming off a forgettable 2020. Last year Jordan Yamamoto started three games for the Marlins, finishing with an 0-1 record and an 18.26 ERA.

In 2019, Yamamoto recorded a 4-5 record for Miami with a 4.46 ERA in 15 starts. The New York Mets will take the depth that Yamamoto can provide for the 2021 season, hoping he can return to his 2019 numbers.

Latest MLB News: Federico Polanco added to the Miami Marlins Minor League System

Federico Polanco will join the Miami Marlins after spending two seasons in the New York Mets organization. The utility infielder signed with the Mets in 2017 for $325,000 USD.

MLB News: Miami Marlins Roster Move Casualties

The Miami Marlins made this move after the recent signing of right-handed pitcher Anthony Bass. The move needed to be done in order to fit Bass on the 40-man roster. Jordan Yamamoto was traded to the Mets to give the Marlins the roster spot for their newest free agent signing.
