The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the Super Bowl for the first time since 2003. They’re facing the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, where Patrick Mahomes and company aim to win back-to-back championships.

However, with Tom Brady under center, the Bucs will have a fighting chance to take home the trophy themselves.

This season, the Buccaneers wound up being one of the best teams in the league, despite entering the playoffs as the fifth seed.

Tampa Bay finished within the top 10 in nearly every category on offense. However, their rushing attack was one of the worst, as they only ran for 1,519 rushing yards throughout the year.

The defense was just as good, except they couldn’t stop the pass to save their lives. They gave up 3,945 yards through the air, ranking them 21st in the league.

They’ll have their work cut out for them facing off against the Chiefs high powered offense in Super Bowl LV.

If they want to beat the Chiefs, Bruce Arians will have to conduct the perfect gameplan. Luckily for the Bucs, they have a deep roster.

The offensive line has played better than expected, and the offense is stacked with wide receivers like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown

With that said, the Bucs defense is going to have to step up to win this game. Luckily for them, they have legit superstars in Lavonte David, Antoine Winfield Jr., and Ndamukong Suh.

This is going to be a fantastic game that comes down to the wire. If the Buccaneers want to win Super Bowl LV though, they’re going to need to follow a solid game plan. Here are three keys to victory for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Super Bowl LV: 3 Keys to Victory

Pressure Patrick Mahomes

Getting in Mahomes’ face is much easier said than done. He’s slippery in the pocket and makes ridiculous throws most quarterbacks can’t make. However, the Cheifs have a weak spot on the offensive line in Super Bowl LV.

Starting left tackle, Eric Fisher fell to injury in the AFC Conference Championship game, creating a possible edge for the Buccaneers.

It’s unfortunate for Kansas City, but it’s an advantage for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass rush. The Bucs will need as much help as they can get, as their pass coverage is one of the weakest in the league.

The only way they can balance it out is to attack Mahomes at all cost. Look for the Bucs to get creative in their blitz packages during Super Bowl LV.

Expose Kansas City’s Rush Defense

The passing game will be on full display in Super Bowl LV, however, the rushing attack should not be ignored. In fact, stopping the run was one of the weak spots of the Kansas City Chiefs, even with premiere defensive players like Chris Jones, and Tyrann Mathieu

Although the Bucs rushing offense was poor, this is an opportunity for the coaching staff to take advantage of the Chiefs defense.

Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette will likely be active early and often as they’ll try to open up the passing game for Brady. Additionally, running the ball consistently leads to the Bucs’ third key to victory in Super Bowl LV.

Control Time of Possession

The best way to beat the Chiefs is to keep Mahomes off of the field. With weapons like Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Kansas City has the ability to score quickly. To balance it out, Tampa Bay will want to keep the ball in Brady’s hands as much as possible.

Essentially, the idea is to run long drives, burning the clock, and finishing with touchdowns. It’s a solid gameplan unless the Bucs can’t get into the endzone.

The last thing the Bucs need in Super Bowl LV is for Ryan Succop to do all of the scoring. If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can pressure Mahomes, run the ball effectively, and run the clock, they’ll be walking away victorious in Super Bowl LV.
