Today, Bellator signed Khasan Magomedsharipov, the 20-year-old brother of UFC surging prospect Zabit Magomedsharipov (via Nolan King). Khasan is an undefeated MMA fighter who, much like his brother, fights at featherweight and sharpens his skills under the tutelage of Mark Henry.

Holding a professional record of 5-0 in MMA, Khasan is a young prospect. This young killer holds three wins by submission and one by knockout! His only decision victory was in his second professional bout. At 1-0, he faced an opponent with a record of 5-1. With that win, Khasan showed that while young, he can prevail against more experienced fighters.

Bellator Signed Khasan, but How Long Will They Keep Him?

Fighting under a number of different promotional banners, including Kaganat Fighting League and Gorilla Fighting Championships, among others; it makes me wonder how long Khasan will stick around with Bellator. Bellator signed Khasan today, so I shouldn’t get too far ahead of myself. However, when looking at Khasan’s history, he seems to not hesitate when switching promotions.

In my humble opinion, if I’m Khasan, I’m sticking with Bellator until I’m fully convinced I’m ready for the top dogs in the UFC. I mean, we all see what happens with UFC rising stars. They get fed to killers. Look at Augusto Sakai vs Alistair Overeem, for example.

In fact, Bellator is widely viewed as “better” than the UFC at slowly and gradually building up their rising stars. Then again though, when you have as many rising stars as Dana White, you might as well just throw them to the wolves and see who’s ready for top competition first.

Regardless, the facts are that Bellator signed Khasan and no debut fight has been announced yet! Bellator makes its own 2021 debut on April 2nd, with Bellator 255!
