The most-watched league in the world this year is the 2020-21 Premier League. It is living up to its billing as being thrilling and unpredictable. As the second half of the season gets underway, the race for the top is very tight. There are currently up to five teams in contention for the top honours. Manchester United Continues To Improve

Although they drew 0-0 at Liverpool, Manchester United can take positives from their performance. It was only in November when they lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal and were 15th after taking just seven points from six games. The acquisition of midfield maestro Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon has transformed this United team and made them genuine title contenders. The team is now working together as a cohesive unit, and their good record away from home may count towards their title challenge.

Leicester flying at the moment

It will be hard to forget the 2015/16 season when Leicester won the title against all odds. However, they will be taken seriously this season as they have shown to be no pushovers. They will also be looking not to make the same mistakes they made last season when they fell away at the tail end of the campaign and missed out on a top-four position. In this season, they have proved impregnable after taking the lead especially as they did in their 2-0 win over Chelsea sent them to the top, albeit momentarily.

Tottenham Spurs continue improving

Everyone knows Jose Mourinho is a perennial winner capable of guiding Spurs to great heights. Also, the combination of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min upfront keep on delivering. Mourinho has also revitalized midfielder Tanguy Dembele to the levels he can reach. However, they will need to work on some of their issues, such as dropping points while on winning positions if they are to be considered genuine title contenders.

Manchester City achieving momentum

In recent years, Manchester City has been considered the main rivals for those laying claim to the Premier League trophy. While they were outclassed last year by Liverpool, they have tightened up at the back, with the defensive pairing of John Stones and Ruben Dias proving impenetrable. They are also solid in midfield, and their forward line is always finding ways of breaking down even the most stubborn defenses.

Liverpool totally dominated last season, brushing aside teams in ruthless fashion as they chased their first title in 30 years. However, the 2020-21 Premier League has seen the squad blighted with injuries, coupled with the loss of form of their strikers which has reduced their chances of retaining the title.
