Premier League matchweek 24 served up plenty of incredible goals and memorable moments.

Premier League Matchweek 24

Manchester City defeated Tottenham and Everton with relative ease, Manchester United stuttered at the Hawthorns, while London sides Arsenal, Chelsea, and West Ham all picked up impressive victories.

The story of the weekend, however, was Liverpool’s late capitulation away to Leicester City. This result has all but ended the Reds‘ title defense.

With the race for the Premier League title destined to go in one direction, it might be safe to predict who will be crowned champions come May 23rd. Here are three incredible goals from Premier League matchweek 24.

Gundogan lights up the Etihad

Is Ilkay Gundogan the Premier League’s player of the season? The German is hitting unforeseeable heights this season at Manchester City, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists from midfield at the time of writing. The second of his two strikes against Tottenham was a thing of magic, reminiscent of Lionel Messi’s famous Champions League goal against Bayern Munich.

City’s goalkeeper Ederson’s long ball to find Gundogan may arguably be better than the goal itself.

Gundogan gets the better of Spurs. What a season he’s having.

Bruno beats the Baggies

Bruno Fernandes is inevitable. Despite a relatively quiet game by his standards, the Portuguese magnifico once again managed to put United on his back during Premier League matchweek 24. The Red Devils found themselves heading into halftime 1-0 down before Fernandes volleyed Luke Shaw’s cross past former United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, a-la-Zidane.

Neither side was happy with a one-all draw, but the strike proved to be the best play of an entertaining match.

It’s him again. Bruno Fernandes comes to United’s rescue once more.

Salah picks his spot

Despite a rocky past couple of matches, Liverpool’s forwards managed to produce a peach of a goal at the King Power Stadium. With the scores level at 0-0, Trent Alexander-Arnold found Roberto Firmino inside the Leicester City box. The Brazilian then brought out the party tricks by brilliantly flicking the ball to Mohamed Salah, whose goal left Kasper Schmeichel helpless and gave Liverpool the lead.

A samba-style pass straight from the streets of Brazil. Such a shame that it counted for nothing.

Honorable Mentions

Danny Ings’s strike past Rui Patricio and Wolves was a goal of power, placement, and pizzazz. A remarkable finish that sums up the Englishman’s technical ability. Should he get an England call-up to the Euros?

Pedro Neto’s match-winner against Southampton was the perfect response to Ings’ opener. The Portuguese took Jan Vestergaard to the cleaners before rifling one past the helpless Alex McCarthy. Incrível.

Those were my top three goals of Premier League matchweek 24.

Though the Premier League matchweek 24’s last two matches were sandwiched between UEFA Champions League and Europa League action, there’s just something about the English game that keeps football fans intrigued.
