A middleweight contest between Sean Strickland and Krzysztof Jotko has been added to the UFC Fight Night card in early May. The news was first reported by Polish outlet MMAPudelek.pl

Krzysztof Jotko takes on Sean Strickland at UFC: Fight Night

Krzysztof Jotko (22-4) is a Polish middleweight fighting out of American Top Team / Phuket Top Team gyms. After struggling with three consecutive losses between May 2017 to April 2018, Jotko has rediscovered winning ways with three wins over Alen Amedovski, Marc-Andre Barriault, and, most recently, Eryk Anders in May 2020.

Sean Strickland (22-3) is currently ranked #15 amongst active middleweights and has amassed a highly impressive record, having notched wins over names such as Tom Breese, Nordine Taleb, and, most recently, broke the seven-fight win streak of fellow middleweight prospect Brendan Allen.

The contest is a potentially pivotal one for the fighters, who are both aiming to make a run against the top calibre fighters amongst the division. Jotko and Strickland join a packed UFC: Fight Night event on May 1, headlined by light heavyweight contenders Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka.

  • Light heavyweight: Dominick Reyes vs Jiri Prochazka
  • Lightweight: Cub Swanson vs Gavin Tucket
  • Heavyweight: Shamil Abdurakhimov vs Augusto Sakai
  • Light heavyweight: Ion Cutelaba vs Devin Clark
  • Featherweight: TJ Laramie vs Damon Jackson
  • Featherweight: Kai Kamaka vs TJ Brown
  • Welterweight: Mike Jackson vs Dean Barry
  • Flyweight: Ji Yeon Kim vs Poliana Botelho
  • Welterweight: K.B. Bhullar vs Andreas Michailidis
  • Strawweight: Sam Hughes vs Konklal Suphisara
  • Middleweight: Sean Strickland vs Krzysztof Jotko
  • Bantamweight: Felipe Dias vs Journey Newson

With both fighters boasting impressive wins of late, who do you believe will emerge victorious and move upwards in the middleweight ranks?
