Khamzat Chimaev retires?

After bursting onto the scene with ferocious performances and dominance, Khamzat Chimaev retires? He has had 2 bouts scheduled and canceled versus Leon Edwards in recent months. However, sources have reported he is suffering from bronchitis now as well.

Khamzat Chimaev Retires?

Khamzat Chimaev made his UFC debut versus experienced Welshman John Phillips. After ragdolling him for 2 rounds, he finished him with a D’arce. One of the most impressive parts of the fight was his ability to quite literally pick Phillips up and carry him to his corner for the takedown. His second fight in the UFC ended in another mauling in the first round vs newcomer Rhys Mckee. Whilst not stellar opposition, it was the fashion of victory that left the fans drooling for more. Next up was Gerald Meerschaert. This fight ended with the first punch thrown by the Swede. In total, his UFC career lasted 3 fights, and he was only hit with a grand total of 2 significant strikes. Unfortunately it’s a sour ending to a promising start.
