Women’s flyweights Antonina Shevchenko and Andrea Lee will square off at UFC 262 on May 15th. The bout was first reported by Nolan King and Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie.

UFC 262 To Host Antonina Shevchenko vs Andrea Lee

Antonina Shevchenko (9-2, 3-2 UFC) fights out of Tiger Muay Thai along with her sister, UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. She has alternated wins and losses during her tenure in the UFC and will be looking to start her first promotional winning streak. Shevchenko last beat Ariane Lipski in November 2020 in a very convincing fashion, winning by TKO via ground and pound in the second round.

Andrea Lee (11-5, 3-3 UFC) fights out of Karate Mafia, Louisana. Lee endured a successful start to her UFC career having won her first three fights before being defeated by Joanne Calderwood. She will be looking to end her three-fight losing skid, which includes losses to Calderwood, Lauren Murphy, and Roxanne Modafferi, to get her career back on track.

This match-up can be seen as a must-win for both fighters. Shevchenko will be looking to ensure she has a promising future and put an end to her inconsistency. While Lee will be fighting for her UFC future as a fourth loss in a row may see her soon released by the organization.

The full line-up and location of UFC 262 has yet to be announced. However, the fights announced for May 15th as of yet include:

  • Flyweight – Katlyn Chookagian vs Viviane Araujo
  • Flyweight – Alex Perez vs Matt Schnell
  • Flyweight – Antonina Shevchenko vs Andrea Lee
  • Flyweight – Gina Mazany vs Priscila Cachoeira
