Jimmy Flick vs Francisco Figueiredo Set for May 8th
Jimmy Flick (16-5, 1-0 UFC) earned his UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series Week 5 after he submitted Nate Smith in the 3rd round. He would make his UFC debut three months later where the submission specialist would pull off yet another submission. This time in the 1st round, submitting Cody Durden with a flying triangle choke for a Performance of the Night bonus. Before bursting onto the UFC scene, “The Brick” had actually obtained the LFA flyweight title in just 38 seconds, once again by submission.
Francisco Figueiredo (12-3, 1-0 UFC) is the brother of UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo. He won his UFC debut last time out against Jerome Rivera via a unanimous decision. He has won seven of his 12 wins via submission, fighting across a variety of organizations.
This is another entertaining scrap for UFC fans to look forward to, as two of the hottest prospects in the flyweight division take on one another. The winner will look certain to break into the rankings with another couple of victories under their belt as we may see another contender rise on May 8th.
