The light-heavyweight bout between Alonzo Menifield and William Knight has been rebooked for UFC 260, after the postponement from Fight Night 186 due to Menifield testing positive for COVID-19. MMA Junkie was the first to report the re-scheduling of this bout.

The fight hasn’t been officially confirmed whether it will be on the main card or the prelims as of yet, but on the UFC website, it currently states it’s on the prelims. Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic will be headlining this event in his title-fight against Francis Ngannou. The featherweight title will be the co-main, where Alexander Volkanovski defends his title for a second time against Brian Ortega.

Alonzo Menifield and William Knight go to war at UFC 260

Alonzo “Atomic” Menifield (9-2 2-2 UFC) will be looking to re-rejuvenate his UFC career after suffering defeats in his last two fights.

It’s pretty much now or never for the 33-year-old, after being knocked out to UFC veteran Ovince St. Preux in the 2nd round in his last bout. In his previous fight, he lost a match up to fellow American Devin Clark via a unanimous decision.

The “Atomic” has got some ridiculous power and he’s showed he can knock people out with 8 KO’s on his record, and his demolition of Scotsman Paul Craig back in 2019. Craig is now on a four-fight unbeaten streak facing a tough opponent in Jamahal Hill next.

William “Knightmare” Knight (9-1, 1-0 UFC) is a heavy hitter, just like Menifield, sharing the same amount of KO’s to his record.

Knight was invited onto Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2020. He destroyed Cody Brundage inside the first round with ruthless punches and elbows.

His first bout came at UFC 253, where after three rounds the judges awarded him victory by unanimous decision over Aleksa Camur. Like Menifield, this is the only time Knight has gone to a decision, the difference is Knight came away with the victory.

As stated at the start of the article, we have the main and co-main decided. The UFC have not released the full cards as of yet, but on their website we have some sort of order:

Main card
Heavyweight title: Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou
Featherweight title: Alexander Volkanovski vs Brian Ortega
Welterweight: Tyron Woodley vs Vicente Luque
Bantamweight: Sean O’Malley vs Thomas Almeida

Lightweight: Jamie Mullarkey vs Khama Worthy
Light Heavyweight: Alonzo Menifield vs William Knight

Early Prelims
Women’s Flyweight: Gillian Robertson vs Miranda Maverick
Featherweight: Shane Young vs Omar Antonio Morales Ferrer
Middleweight: Marc-Andre Barriault vs Abu Azaitar

Make sure to expect more fights to be announced in the coming weeks, with the event being held on March 27th.
