Jared ‘Psycho’ Scoggins will take on Magomed Magomedov on April 2 under the Bellator banner. With just one loss a-piece on each of their respective professional records, both fighters have impressive records and are highly credentialed outside of the leading promotions. In short, this is a high-level fight that dedicated fight fans shouldn’t miss. The fight was first reported by MMA DNA (via Twitter).
Magomed Magomedov takes on Jared Scoggins
Jared Scoggins (10-1) has been successful amongst several smaller US promotions and, now ranked #25of all active bantamweights in the US, has demonstrated he is ready to step into the big leagues. Scoggins fights out of Revolution Mixed Martial Arts alongside teammate and UFC stalwart Sara McMann and will be making his debut for Bellator on the April 2 card.
Muscovite Magomed Magomedov (17-1)is a dominating fighter that has made his name primarily outside of the major organisations, winning fights in Russian promotions M-1 Global and ACB. The grappling specialist signed for Bellator in 2020 however and won his promotional debut against Matheus Mattos.
In addition to his sterling professional record, Magomedov will be familiar to fight fans for serving current UFC Bantamweight champion Petr Yan his first and only professional loss in 2016. The two fighters are now 1-1 following a 2017 rematch, meaning that, currently, both fighters represent the only loss on the other’s professional record.
Magomedov will be considered a favourite against Scoggins, and, should he successfully get past the American, has serious potential in Bellator’s bantamweight division. The fight between two promising fighters on the rise, the contest demonstrates an ever-deepening roster for the Bellator promotion.
