Ovince St. Preux vs Maxim Grishin Booked for June 26

Most recently fighting at UFC Vegas 20, Grishin lost to Dustin Jacoby by decision. He took to Instagram to express his thoughts on the decision, posting this picture of the fight’s official stats with a caption reading: “I’ll just leave it here! Official statistics of UFC.”

The Road to Ovince St. Preux vs Maxim Grishin

Ovince St. Preux (25-15, 13-10 UFC) aka OSP is a long-time veteran of the sport, one of the last remaining active-fighters who was apart of the Strikeforce merger with the UFC. 2-3 in his last 5 and coming off a second-round TKO at the hands of Jamahal Hill, OSP’s career has seen better days.

Seemingly struggling to find the right weight class as of late, St. Preux moved up to heavyweight for a one-off against Ben Rothwell at UFC on ESPN+ 29. Losing a split decision to Rothwell, the fight as a whole was rather unimpressive. Moving back down to 205, OSP managed to perform a walk-off KO against Alonzo Menifield in round two at UFC Vegas 9 to get back in the win column. What followed was the Hill fight, and we already discussed how that ended. As an observer, it seems the cardio of St. Preux is getting more and more questionable. Although as a fan, let’s hope that problem is solved for the Ovince St. Preux vs Maxim Grishin fight.

Maxim Grishin (31-9-2, 1-2 UFC) was an undefeated fighter in the PFL, (with two draws) before making his way to the UFC. Upon entering the world’s premier fight league, he would lose his debut against Marcin Tybura via decision at UFC 251. Making it 1-1 with his next fight; by defeating Gadzhimurad Antigulov at UFC Fight Island 6 via TKO.

Once again, we’ve come full circle, as after the Antigulov finish, came the Jacoby fight. So, who wins this Ovince St. Preux vs Maxim Grishin fight? Both men need the win badly to solidify themselves, and a loss here could inch them closer and closer to that chopping block!
