The event will be headlined by current Bellator Bantamweight World Champion Juan Archuleta making his first title defence against Sergio Pettis.
Bantamweights James Gallagher and Patchy Mix Clash in May
James “The Strabanimal” Gallagher (11-1, 8-1 Bellator) has revived his career in the past two years after losing to Ricky Bandejas in 2018.
Gallagher was unbeaten going into the Bandejas fight. Inside the first round, these two were going to war and it was back and forth between the pair until Bandejas caught Gallagher with a jab which startled him, then a beautiful head-kick knocked Gallagher to the canvas. The ground and pound from Bandejas finished off Gallagher in the first.
The Irishman has returned strong in these two last years, competing in four fights and winning all four. Three of those wins came by submission inside the first round.
Patrick “Patchy” Mix (13-1, 2-1 Bellator) is looking to get straight back on track towards a title fight after losing out on the bantamweight title back in September 2020 to Archuleta.
After having championship success in King of the Cage. Mix was signed by Bellator and made his professional debut in July 2019. An impressive first-round submission over Bandejas made us realise we had a new star to watch out for.
Mix had a win over Isaiah Chapman, the former Bellator fighter who sadly passed away after being shot and killed in April last year. Mix also represented Bellator in Rizin 20 to come up with a submission win over Yuki Motoya.
The winner of Gallagher and Mix could potentially be the next challenger of the winner of Archuleta and Pettis for the bantamweight title.
The only other announced fight for this event so far is another bantamweight bout between Raufeon Stots vs Josh Hill.
