The UFC has potentially added Beneil Dariush vs Tony Ferguson for the May 15 UFC 262 card, as of noon on March 12. There have been no signed bout agreements, but this is the card the promotion is targeting. Two people with knowledge of the bout asked to remain anonymous since it has not been finalized. The news was first reported by John Morgan over at MMAJunkie.com.
Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson (26-5-0, 18-3 UFC) looks to snap his two-fight skid after consecutive losses to Justin Gaethje in the interim title fight at UFC 249 and Charles Oliveira ended a formidable 12-fight win streak. His streak was tied for eighth in UFC history and was the longest in the 155-pound division. He is currently ranked at number five in the lightweight division.
Beneil Dariush (20-4-1, 14-3-1 UFC) is riding a six-fight win streak, with consecutive highlight-reel finishes of Drakkar Klose at UFC 248 and Scott Holtzman, and a split decision “Fight of the Night” win over Diego Ferreira. He is currently ranked at number nine in the lightweight division after his last win over then-number-ten-ranked Ferreira.
There has been no word on where the Beneil Dariush vs Tony Ferguson bout will be placed on the card, but it will definitely be full of fireworks! UFC 262 currently has no headliner, so this may potentially be the main event. Here is the entire card (so far) according to MMA Junkie:
