UFC Vegas 22 adds Montserrat Ruiz vs Cheyanne Buys to an already amazing card after another intense weekend of UFC fights has passed. After two weeks of illegal knees, eye pokes, and the perplexed state of the welterweight division, the UFC serves a delight yet again.
UFC Vegas 22 features the main event between Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland in a mouthwatering middleweight matchup that’s bound to have reverberations around the division. The card will see married couple Cheyanne and JP Buys make their UFC debuts.
The fight at focus here is the women’s strawweight bout of Montserrat Ruiz vs Cheyanne Buys. Buys (5-1-0) is from St. Petersburg, USA, and makes her UFC debut at UFC Vegas 22. She is currently on a four-fight win streak through multiple organizations, with the most recent victory coming from Dana White’s Contender Series.
Ruiz (9-1-0) also makes her UFC debut at UFC Vegas 22 following an impressive run of victories from Mexico to Invicta FC. Cheyanne Buys takes on Montserrat Ruiz
Montserrat Ruiz and Cheyanne Buys both make their debut in a division that is occupied by extremely talented women. UFC Vegas 22 is a stacked card and fight fans are spoiled for choice. Buys is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a black belt in Taekwondo. She has extremely swift striking and is able to defend herself on the ground.
She made her professional debut on March 9, 2018, at LFA 35 against Karla Hernandez. She won that fight by elbows in the third round. She then lost her subsequent fight before impressing in a three-fight win streak. This got her a call to feature on Dana White’s Contender Series, which earned her a UFC contract.
