May 8th Fight Night Card Adds Ben Rothwell and Philipe Lins Fight

Ben Rothwell (38-13, 8-7 UFC) is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and fights out of Rothwell MMA. Rothwell started his UFC career suffering a TKO loss to Cain Velasquez and since then Rothwell has had a mixed UFC career, with multiple win streaks as well as losing streaks at different points of his career. Rothwell has notable victories over the likes of Alistair Overeem and Matt Mitrione. However, in his last fight, Rothwell suffered a unanimous decision loss to Marcin Tybura that ended a two-fight winning streak. This streak included victories over Ovince Saint Preux and Stefan Struve. Therefore, Rothwell will be looking to get back to a winning streak with a victory over Philipe Lins.

Philipe Lins (14-5, 0-2 UFC) is from Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil but fights out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida. Lins has not enjoyed great success in his UFC career, after starting his UFC career 0-2, and a run of promising performances in the Professional Fighters League. In his debut fight for the UFC, Lins suffered a unanimous decision loss to former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski. This was followed by a knockout loss to Tanner Boser in round one. Therefore, Lins will be looking to get the first win of his UFC career against Ben Rothwell.

Ben Rothwell and Philipe Lins will both be looking to get a win to ensure that their place in the heavyweight division does not come into question following the recent releases of Junior Dos Santos and Alistair Overeem.
