Deshaun Watson Broncos: Why Denver Is the Best Fit for the Star QB

Deshaun Watson is still interested in being traded and the Denver Broncos are still one of his top teams. With teams starting to sign more players from free agency, the best place for Watson to end up is in Denver. Since Denver did make some moves this offseason the one thing that they have to be careful of is not paying too much for Watson.

Denver Broncos: Playoff Team

The Denver Broncos have done an amazing job this offseason hitting their biggest needs and signing quality players. George Paton did a great job bringing back Shelby Harris, Von Miller, and Justin Simmons. He also brought in players Mike Boone, Kyle Fuller, and Ronald Darby. If he can get Watson, they will at least make the playoffs.

This team was pretty good on defense despite all of the injuries. The real struggle was the offense. In 2020 the Broncos offense produced only 5,369 yards, 323 points, and 32 turnovers. If the Broncos have a quarterback that knows how to take care of the ball and get a passing game going, that will open up the running game and the team will increase their total yards and cut down on their turnovers.

Denver Broncos: Young Weapons on Offense

The Denver Broncos have one of the youngest offenses in the NFL at an average age of 25 years old. They hit their offense hard during the 2020 draft. Out of the ten draft picks, six of them were for the offense, and out of those six, three of them are wide receivers. Watson would have Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, DaeSean Hamilton, Courtland Sutton, and Noah Fant to throw the ball to. With the experience that Watson has, he could also work with the young wide receivers and even coach them up.

In 2020 Watson threw for 4,823 yards with 33 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. If Watson can produce those numbers with only Brandin Cooks and Will Fuller, he could easily get over 5,000 yards with 35 touchdowns with the young Denver core in 2021.

Denver Broncos: Trade Options for Watson

Denver has hit their biggest needs this offseason at CB and a backup running back since Phillip Lindsay went to Houston. This gives them some room to give draft picks and possibly some players for Watson. The best trade package would be a 2021 first-round pick, 2022 first-round pick, 2022 second-round pick, and Drew Lock. This would be the best option for both teams. Denver would get Watson and only give up one player. For the Texans, they get two first-round picks, a second-round pick, and a young quarterback in Drew Lock.

The most important thing is that Denver has the defensive players that they needed and a strong young offense. It would be best to give away draft picks and possibly Drew Lock. Paton can"t waste all the progress that he has done this offseason by trading key players that the Broncos need to have a successful season.

The Denver Broncos would be the best fit for Deshaun Watson. He could make this young mediocre offense be a powerhouse and with the consistent defense, this team reminds me of the 2015 Super Bowl team. Paton has done an amazing job getting some quality players at a decent price so he can use the draft picks in a trade. As long as he doesn"t spend too much for Watson this could get the Denver Broncos back to the playoffs and maybe the Super Bowl. Deshaun Watson Broncos
