A Women’s Featherweight Bout Announced Between Cat Zingano and Olivia Parker
Cat “Alpha” Zingano will be returning for her second bout for Bellator, after defeating Gabrielle Holloway on a unanimous decision back at her promotional debut at Bellator 245. Her professional MMA career started back in June 2008, when she defeated Karina Taylor to win the Inaugural Ring of Fire Women’s Bantamweight Championship.
She was on a stunning seven-fight win-streak before being signed up by the UFC to face Miesha Tate in April 2013. A beautiful debut for Zingano, with her finishing Tate with fierce knees and elbows in a Fight of the Night performance. If you didn’t know, Zingano was the last woman to beat the GOAT Amanda Nunes, knocking her out in the third round at UFC 178.
Zingano was given the chance to fight for the Women’s Bantamweight Title against Ronda Rousey. Unfortunately for Cat, she was submitted in 14 seconds to shatter her dreams of winning a UFC title. Zingano lost three of her final four bouts in the UFC before she signed for Bellator in 2020.
Olivia “Phoenix” Parker will make her Bellator debut against Zingano at the age of 39-years-old. Parker was unbeaten in her five amateur fights becoming a professional in January 2019, fighting for Valor Fighting Challenge. She won her four bouts in the promotion and stepped up for a challenge to fight for Invicta.
In her first bout in July 2020, she came up against Chelsea Chandler and was submitted inside the first round via a rear-naked choke. Cat Zingano and Olivia Parker will be on a quest to fight the divisions best competitors, whoever’s victorious in this one.
