Hopes were high for Brave CF 49, and with fights like Muhammad Mokaev vs Abdul Hussein on the card, Brave definitely delivered!
After a spectacular night of fights, names like Jose Torres, Benoit St. Denis, and Ikram Aliskerov left it all in the cage and delivered electrifying performances. However, none could quite match the intensity of the war that was Mokaev vs Hussein.
Brave CF 49: Mokaev vs Hussein Recap
Muhammad Mokaev and Abdul Hussein are two former IMMAF Amateur World Champions who were both on a sizable win streak leading into this matchup.
Even on paper, the pair made for an amazing fight, and boy, did they deliver! Described by many as “15 minutes of non-stop scrambling”, Mokaev vs Hussein featured some of the most beautiful grappling ever contained within an octagon.
Both men were extremely evenly matched, and the fight was extremely competitive. While Muhammad Mokaev came out on top, Abdul Hussein should still hold his head high. Fights like these give merit to the age-old adage: “There are no losers in this fight.”
Muhammad Mokaev would win the decision, and after the fight he had this to say:
“I was competing against a world champion too, I knew it’d be tough. But still, I believe I might have underestimated him a little bit, I thought I was going to submit him but he’s tough, man, he’s a fantastic fighter and, well, everyone in the division will have to pay attention to me, because I’m coming.”
