On Thursday, April 1, Ismail Naurdiev “The Austrian Wonderboy” is set to make his much-awaited debut under the promotion’s banner at BRAVE CF 50 in Bahrain, as part of the talent-filled super welterweight division.

The 24-year-old phenom is slated to challenge Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi for the BRAVE CF Super Welterweight World Championship, in the headliner of the said monumental event, which will broadcast live from the Bahrain historic site of Arad Fort.

Naurdiev is regarded as of the most sought-after prospects to emerge from Europe as he owns an impressive professional standing of 20-4 with an 80 percent finishing rate. In addition, he has won 11 of his 24 outings via knockout, with ten of it happening in the first round.

Al-Silawi is riding on a huge wave of momentum after his successful one-off middleweight appearance against Melvin van Suijdam at BRAVE CF 43 in October of last year.

Naurdiev is expected to have his hands full versus the well-rounded Al-Silawi on Thursday, but if he comes out triumphant, he will usher a new era in the organization’s stacked 175-pound weight class. In a recent interview, champion Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi stated “I think this mentality of his is a huge problem because I will give him a huge BRAVE CF welcome. I’m planning a huge surprise for him and a heavy knockout is waiting for Naurdiev”, he stated.

I was fortunate to catch up with Ismail Naurdiev in preparation for the biggest fight of his career.

Ismail Naurdiev is ready for the biggest challenge of his career, in deathroning Champion Al Silawe at BRAVE 50.

Interview with Ismail Naurdiev

Good day Ismail, You had 4 fights in the UFC how was your experience there and how do you feel it helped develope you as a fighter and led you to this main event at Brave 50?

It was a very good experience and I’m definitely ready for the main event of the evening here in Bahrain for BRAVE CF 50 tomorrow night!

Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi has so far been a dominant champion with BRAVE how does it feel to make your BRAVE debut against the King of the division and what can we expect to see from you?

It’s a big opportunity for me and I’m really happy to get this shot. There WILL be a new King in the Jungle tomorrow night!

How has the worldwide covid pandemic effected your training and preparation the last year?

It was a really hard time in the beginning especially, but since July of 2020 I have often been in Morocco with the Azaitar brothers and training with one of the best fighters in the world.

You have only been stopped once in 24 fights what do you attribute to you being so durable in the cage?

I grew up during the war in a real warriors country, Chechnya, until I was 10 years old so I’m used to fighting until the end of my life. Fighting in the cage is just fun for me.

Al Silawe recently said “Don’t forget I’m the Champion, your BRAVE CF welcome will be a knockout” directed at you, do you have a response for your opponent?

Yes , Jarrah, you are right! There will be a knockout win…a knockout win for me.

I would like to thank Ismail Naurdiev and the BRAVE PR Team for making this possible.

Make sure to catch the BRAVE 50 event live at 5.30 PM (GMT+3) and will be live and free for most of the world through the BRAVE streaming platform bravecftv.com
