Former ONE featherweight and lightweight king, Martin Nguyen has been forced out of his bout next Wednesday against Kim Jae Woong due to health and safety concerns. The news was first reported by SCMP MMA
Although testing negative for COVID-19 upon his arrival in Singapore from Florida, Martin came in contact with a passenger on the flight in question who had tested positive.
Martin Nguyen Among the Fighters to Pull Out From ONE on TNT Series
Martin is the latest ONE competitor to be pulled from the TNT series due to health and safety concerns, with Team Lakay staples Lito Adiwang and Stephen Loman being just a couple of others who have been faced with the same dilemma.
ONE’s second event on TNT will still go ahead as planned, with atomweight kickboxing champ Janet Todds Muay Thai return against Anne Line Hogstad now serving as the co-main event.
It is still yet to be seen whether Martin Nguyen and Kim Jae Woong will be rescheduled against each other at the latter end of the TNT series, I can only imagine that being a fight with the divisional implications it has, it will be at the top of the list for the Asian giants to make as soon as they can.
ONE on TNT 2 will air April 14th on TNT in the US and will be free on YouTube and the ONE super app in Europe and beyond.
