A women’s flyweight bout between Maycee Barber and Miranda Maverick has been announced to fight at UFC Fight Night 193. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto first released the news on his social media. The event hasn’t been given a location as of yet, and only one other fight has been announced with the card being over three months away.

Maycee “The Future” Barber (8-2, 3-2 UFC) will be trying to stop falling to a three-fight losing-skid against Miranda Maverick at UFC Fight Night 193. She fought back at UFC 258, losing on a unanimous decision to Alexa Grasso. Her previous was fight was against veteran Roxanne Modafferi. It ended in the same result, with Barber losing her first fight in the promotion.
Barber was signed for a reason though when she impressed on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018 at 20 years of age. She knocked out Jamie Colleen to improve her record to 5-0, with four finishes. She was signed up four months later by the UFC as she knocked out Hannah Cifers, JJ Aldrich, and Gillian Robertson in her first three fights.
We’ve only just seen Miranda “Fear the” Maverick (9-2, 2-0 UFC) in action at UFC 260 when she defeated Gillian Robertson on a unanimous decision in a fiery contest between the pair.
Maverick is one year older than Barber at 23 years of age, and like her opponent also, she has incredible potential in the flyweight division. Her first fight in the promotion was a victory due to a doctor stoppage at the end of the first round against Liana Jojua at UFC 254.
With Maycee Barber and Miranda Maverick lined up for the July matchup we currently only have two fights that have been announced so far. We know there will be plenty more bouts to come, with only a women’s bantamweight bout between Aspen Ladd and Macy Chiasson set for the event at this moment in time.
